Stuart Nelson is without a doubt the best driving instructor to be taught by, calm, collected and overall very nice bloke to be around. He will never shout at you for your mistakes, will only correct you in the proper way which is most beneficial for your learning and preparation for your test. Wouldn’t have chosen anyone else but him and can safely say every one of my driving lessons over the past 11 months has been more than a pleasure, thank you.

I recently passed my test whilst using 1st Driving School and my instructor was Stuart. He was amazing, cracking some amazing jokes and loves to hold a great conversation. Stuart is eager to get you driving on your first lesson which i found amazing. With just about 5 months of being with him I passed my test first time! Stuart is always there to support you in every way, including videos to assist you with driving around and he’s happy to go the extra mile to give you a little homework (which helped me massively). If I could go back 5 months and have Stuart teaching me again I would do it, the bond that you will create with him is like no other. Overall Stuart is an amazing teacher, he’s never snaps at you for doing something wrong instead he teaches you right from wrong, he’s an amazing man, very talented, funny, exciting and comforting whilst driving around tricky area. I looked forward to every lesson with him and i’m very thankful for everything he did for me.

It was a wonderful experience. Stuart, my 6ft tall driving instructor from 1st Driving School, deserves more than 5 stars! He's is friendly, humorous, encouraging and professional at the same time. I feel a bond already. Thanks to his effort (beyond regular) in getting me through this licence exam in the first go. I would highly recommend him to everyone around, if you're lucky enough to get the slots!

It has been an absolute pleasure to start my driving journey with 1st Driving School with Stuart Nelson as my instructor! Stuart is extremely kind, caring, supportive and has so much patience!! Stuart was constantly positive and had so much confidence in me even when I doubted myself and without him I would have not passed my test first time!!! I could not have asked for a better instructor and I will miss our lessons together and I guess his dad jokes! Thank you so much Stuart!

My instructor Stuart has been amazing!His patience knew no bounds! He took time to understand me and how best to teach me which was fantastic. There are absolutely no words to describe how amazing Stuart is from 1st Driving School. I suffered severe anxiety around driving and getting into cars prior to learning with Stu due to bad experiences in the past and poor health but Stu made me feel so relaxed and at ease. Stuart took over my daughters tuition at the last minute and worked so hard to get her match fit for her exam, fitting in extra lessons to ensure she was as ready as she could be and giving her the confidence that she was more than capable of passing, and she did! Can’t recommend him enough, thank you Stuart.

Stuart the man, the myth, the legend! Couldn't have done this without Stuart. I would have quit a long time ago if it wasnt for his composure and encouragement. Took me awhile, but his perseverance and belief in me made me eventually love driving and I'm incredibly thankful.

Stuart helped me so much as I wasn’t feeling as confident after having a not so great start with a previous driving instructor. Stuart was/is patient, friendly, professional, supportive and amazing throughout my whole driving journey which was even longer due to covid. I’d been to two driving schools before coming across 1st and I have to say there is absolutely no comparison. It’s completely worth the investment. My instructor, Stuart helped me pass first time. I was sent weekly progress reports with action points for our next session and I knew I could contact him anytime with questions. The service is spot on and I felt very comfortable, safe and reassured while I was learning. Stuart even gave me extra tips for my own car (e.g. getting blind spot mirrors since it’s a tiny one) so he really went over and above for me. I would highly recommend 1st driving school without hesitation.
