After being unsuccessful in my driving test 6 times, I contacted 1st Driving School and they put me through to my instructor Ash. After having 2 previous instructors, Ash taught me how to be confident in my driving and helped me build confidence around my parking, which was my main problem. He teaches very thoroughly and ensures he explains everything in depth. We did multiple parking sessions until I perfected my technique and was confident enough to do it without any guidance. Ash made sure to point out where I needed improvement but also let me know when I was doing well, which helped build my confidence behind the wheel. Ash was also confident in my driving ability, and after failing so many times in Chilwell, I took my test at Colwick Test Centre and passed with only 2 minors! Not only did he teach me how to drive well and pass my test, he also taught me how to drive confidently after passing. I am very pleased with my results and will recommend this driving school and Ash to anyone hoping to get their licence.

He’s super chilled, extremely patient, very skilled and guides you throughout the drive as well as doing manoeuvres. Ash was a really good instructor. He was polite and caring while instructing and took a person centred approach. He was very professional: coming on time for our lessons, letting me drive without losing any of my lesson time, being flexible where possible but at the same being assertive where required. I enjoyed my driving lessons and would highly recommend. 1st Driving School also showed sincere attempts to support their students. I contacted them on a weekend expecting not to hear back until Monday. However, they responded within a couple of minutes and immediately got me in touch with my driving instructor Ash. The setup was quiet simple. I felt reassured during our interactions and they kept their promises until the end. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. I was able to pass my exam 1st time with only 22 hours of lessons and I didn’t have any other car to practice at home. Ash was always pushing me to be my best and he did what he could to make me a good driver.

Ash is a really great instructor, he’s calm and super supportive. I’ve had multiple different instructors in the past and Ash was by far the best one, especially if you struggle with confidence and anxiety. I honestly don’t think I’d have passed without him. My last instructor I had for over a year and failed more than once, I was with Ash for a couple of months and he helped me to see where I was going wrong and taught me the right way and I was finally able to pass. Highly recommend, I’m so thankful I found him.
